Pre-Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Interns

Laura Vidal_edited.jpg

I integrate client-centered humanistic approaches with practical tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and other Mindfulness based approaches. I am a strength-based therapist, who works collaboratively with clients. My ultimate aim is to offer a safe and supportive space where my clients feel heard, seen and given the support and tools that are best suited for their individual needs. I value honesty, clarity and authenticity and carry on my work based on these tenants.

I completed my predoctoral internship at California State University, Fullerton where I had the privilege of working with students from a wide range of ethnical backgrounds and sexual orientations. Prior to that, I completed a two-year training program at Women’s Therapy Center and worked with immigrant children and families through Seeds of Awareness.

My areas of interest include: perfectionism, anxiety related concerns, eating disorders, self-compassion, mindfulness, grief, major life transitions, vocational development and finding purpose. I am fluent in Spanish and can conduct therapy in Spanish with those who are interested.

I currently work under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Pinjuv and Dr. Steven Walch.
